Review ~ The Suicide Princess ~ Review

by Anthony Bryan

The Blurb

Stephanie Bradford is a young, attractive, and successful District Attorney on her way to the top. She has the near-perfect life, with an amazing husband, and she has it all in the palm of her hand. When her marriage falls into a romantic rut, Stephanie is skillfully swooned by a charming, mysterious and intriguing stranger who looks to be the answer to all of her fantasies. A whirlwind and exciting affair quickly spirals out of control, and before long, she learns that things aren’t always as they appear and people are rarely who they seem. One poor decision becomes the catalyst for a series of events that rips her life apart, and Stephanie is left with nothing but the thirst for revenge against the man who viciously stole everything from her. The Suicide Princess is a highly charged roller coaster ride where nothing is as it seems and everything is at stake!

~ * ~ Our Thoughts In Review ~ * ~

First thought: Bravo!

Anthony Bryan's debut novel The Suicide Princess is definitely an entertaining read. It is an erotic suspense written with a male perspective primarily in the lead heroine's POV. This gave it quite a different feel from the average erotic romance and I appreciate the fresh take. The plot was edgy and kept you guessing. The sex was HOT, with the exception of a few scenes that carried a bit of a pornistic (<--I totally just made that up) feel to them. This, however, can be forgiven once you are better acquainted with the villain's personality. Without giving spoilers (I hate spoilers) I will say that the twists were unexpected. The turn towards the dark-ish erotic was a bit too unexpected for me but it did have a satisfactory ending.

One thing I want to point out, which the blurb fails to mention at the time of this review: There is an element of M/F/F sexual content in this story. While it is a well written erotic scene, it came as quite a bit of surprise and didn't seem to fit with the rest of the story. It doesn't take away from the story, but I'm still not sure why it was added to begin with.

Overall, this was a great afternoon read and I'm grateful to our followers for recommending it! It was not something that kept me glued to my Kindle, however, I did find myself hurrying through my work to get back to the story. Four out of five stars from this reader and I look forward to more from Anthony Bryan!
